Nara 1 Day Tour (Sample)
This is a tour designed to see two World Heritage temples on the outskirts of Nara City. By visiting the two temples, you will be amazed of the architectual skills of building such a huge wooden structure more than 1,000 years ago. You will also experience the Buddhist cuture and traditional lifestyle of Nara's ordinary people.
Visit Yakushiji Temple constructed in the late 7th century by an Emperor to pray for the recovery of his sick wife. Walk around the large area to see the pair of three story pagodas, the golden hall, and the main hall with beautiful statues of Yakushi Nyorai. You can also experience Shakyo, Buddihist Sura copying for meditation, using a brush and ink.
For lunch, enjoy Udon noodles or Nara's most famous food, Kakinoha Sushi (mackerel or salmon Sushi wrapped in persimmon leaf).
Then, visit Horyuji Temple estalished in 607. The main building is the world's oldest surviving wooden structure, with a history of more than 1,300 years. Next to Horyuji is Chuguji Temple, where you will see a beautiful statue, Miroku Bosatsu, which is said to be one of the "three smiling masterpieces of the world" besides Mona Lisa and the Sphinx.
Move back to the center of Nara city, and stroll on the streets of Nara Machi, the oldest district in Nara with private houses from 19th century. You can visit some of buildings that are used as museums, shops and cafes.
Also, we can arrange private tours to Kasuga Shrine,Todaiji Temple (Great Buddha), Asuka, etc.

Lunch is not included because we would like you to be able to choose the type of food according to how you feel that day. Extra charges for experiencing traditional cultural activities may be added depending on what you choose to do.
