Sample Itinerary (8 hour tour)

Start your day at Horyuji Temple estalished in 607.  The main building is the world's oldest surviving wooden structure, with a history of more than 1,300 years.  The temple was registered as an UNESCO World Heritage site, which was the first one in Japan.  Next to Horyuji is Chuguji Temple, where you will see a beautiful statue, Miroku Bosatsu, which is said to be one of the "three smiling masterpieces of the world" besides Mona Lisa and the Sphinx.

Then, visit Yakushiji Temple constructed in the late 7th century by an Emperor to pray for the recovery of his sick wife.  Walk around the large area to see the pair of three story pagodas, the golden hall, and the main hall with beautiful statues of Yakushi Nyorai.  You can also experience Shakyo, Buddihist Sura copying for meditation, using a brush and ink.       Stroll around the vast area of Todaiji Temple to enjoy the masterpieces of architectures and statues.  Constructed in 752, Todaiji is the head temple of all provincial Buddhist in Japan.  After visiting Great Buddha, take an upward path to Nigatsu-do where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Nara city.   Also located in Nara Park, Kasuga shrine is the Nara's most celebrated one famous for its many lanterns donated by worshippers.  You will see many deer as divine messengers in the area.

*As for lunch, the guide will recommend a nice restaurant depending on what you feel like eating this day.  Lunch fee is not included in the tour price.
