Scenic Beauty & Gourmet Hokkaido

This seven day private tour covers major sightseeing in Hokkaido, including Sapporo, Furano, Daisetsuzan National Park, Noboribetsu, and Otaru. Feel the Hokkaido's great nature, culture and gourmet.

Sapporo is the prefectural capital of Hokkaido and also considered as one of the popular gourmet destinations in Japan. Enjoy shopping district near clock tower, or gourmet factories and restaurants. Visit Daisetsuzan (Mt. Daisetsu) National Park to observe expansive mountains. In Furano, a small town in the center of Hokkaido, enjoy a landscape of extensive fields such as famous lavender, potato flower, wheat which scenes depict the colorful beauty. After that, experience an active volcanic vent in Noboribetsu and relax at a hotel or ryokan overlooking Lake Toya. Then, stay overnight at the established hot spring ryokan near Otaru, historical canal town.

Sample Itinerary Overview

Day 1 Arrive at Sapporo, Hokkaido

Arrive at Shin Chitose International Airport and transfer to Sapporo by local train. Visit sightseeing spots such as Sapporo Clock Tower, Odori Park, TV Tower, chocolate cookie factory. Dinner can be arranged at local restaurants such as sushi, crab, teppanyaki, and lamb BBQ. Or, Ramen noodle shop can be recommended if you prefer.

Stay at a deluxe hotel in Sapporo for two nights.

Day 2 Sapporo

Sapporo One day private tour in Sapporo, escorted by local guide. In the morning, enjoy a lift to the top of Okurayama Ski Jump where large hill ski jump competition was held at the Winter Olympic Game in Sapporo in 1972. From here a majestic view of Sapporo city and mountains can be seen. Visit the most established shrine in Hokkaido where important colonists in Hokkaido's pioneering history are enshrined. Then, visit local market in the city where you can find fresh seafood as well as local eateries serving donburi rice bowl or sushi. Then, enjoy fruit picking such as plums, apples, sakuranbo cherries at local farm during spring-autumn.

Day 3 Daisetsuzan National Park & Furano

Enjoy a scenic drive to Furano via Mt. Daisetsu National Park. Thanks to the mountain range over 2,000 metre high in higher latitude, visitors can enjoy alpine environment which is equivalent to mountain range at a level of 3,000 metres in mainland Japan. Enjoy a gondola ride to the observation deck on 1,600 metre high. Here, you might be encounter some wild animals and plants. Especially alpine flowers in summer, and colored leaves in autumn are highly admired by photographers and hikers.

Move to Furano and stay two nights at deluxe hotel.

Day 4 Furano

Furano Furano is one of the most popular destinations on the Hokkaido Garden Path. Enjoy pastoral scenery of Furano, such as flower or lavender fields and picturesque meadows. There are some local galleries with photos and paintings of the area.

For dinner, Furano-style French restaurant using fresh vegetables can be arranged.

Day 5 Noboribetsu & Lake Toya

Move to Lake Noboribetsu & Lake Toya by private car. On the way, visit one of the popular gardens with over 1,000 botanical species, which was established by leading Japanese gardener. In Noboribetsu, visit Jigokudani (Hell valley), valley of active volcanic vent. Then, move to Lake Toya, internationally recognized resort in Japan as the town was selected as the venue for the 2008 G8 summit.

Stay overnight at deluxe hotel or ryokan overlooking Lake Toya.

Day 6 Otaru

Move to Otaru by private car. Otaru, which was once called the "Northern Wall Street", was the most prosperous merchant towns in Hokkaido in early 1990s. Otaru Canal is lined historical warehouses which were renovated into fashionable boutiques, restaurants and glass ware factories. Try fresh sushi on the Sushiya Dori offering over 130 sushi restaurants on the 200-metre street.

Stay overnight at deluxe hot spring ryokan. Full-course Japanese dinner and breakfast with fresh Hokkaido products will be served.

Day 7 Transfer to New Chitose Airport

Transfer to New Chitose Airport by local train.
