About Michi Travel Japan

Why did you start a travel company specializing in providing services in English?

The founder and CEO of Michi Travel Japan, Seiichi Chada and company members started and joined this company with a common vision.  We all have spent years in international business but in different areas, such as financial service industry, broadcasting and hospitality industry.  Often times, we have heard from our business or academic friends that it would be wonderful if there is a  travel service that can meet the needs of sophisticated travelers to Japan in their language, mostly English.  Our staff must have an international background as well as profound knowledge and affection on Japan.  We are passionate about creating memorable experiences in Japan for our customers as well as contributing to Japanese society by introducing Japan’s attractiveness to the world.

 

What services do you offer?

Our services include  1) custom travel (custom itinerary), 2) accommodation, 3) escorted tour.  If you are looking for a “fully personalized itinerary” including information on where to visit, what to do, what to eat, how to move around and where to stay, please use our custom travel services.   If you would like to just book accommodations, please use our accommodation services.  Also, we are planning to start our escorted tour soon (pre-packaged guided tour, but not in a large group, usually less than 12 people).  Other than the three typical services, we would like to flexibly respond to your needs if your request is related to traveling (leisure, sightseeing, or business) in Japan.  For example, if you need a private guide who speaks English, for your day trip, we can arrange someone who is highly qualified for your needs.

 

Our license status (2nd Category Travel Agents) under the Japanese Travel Agency Law allows us to provide domestic (inside Japan) travel services without restriction.

 

I live outside of Japan.  Can you book international flight to Japan through Michi Travel?

We are very sorry, but we do not sell international flights.  Since internet has revolutionalized the value of travel business, there are many efficient ways to book your flights to Japan.  Our strategy is to focus on value-added services (i.e. what others cannot do) such as giving expert advice on Japan based on our wide variety of information and huge network.

 

About Our Services

Why does your recommendation list of accomodation cover relatively small number of properties?

There are more than 60,000 hotels or ryokans in Japan.  However, our marketing basic strategy is to target a specific segment: sophisticated international travelers.  We believe that our recommended accommodation options can be and should be very selective to meet the standard and needs of these travelers.

 

Is your arrangement of accommodation limited to your list on the web?

No.  Our list on the web does not cover every property we know.  We know more.  If you find your ideal accommodation among our list on the web, please let us know the property in particular.  If you cannot find one or you are simply too busy to search, you can contact us describing a general idea of your ideal accommodation.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Diners and JCB.

Once we agree on our service and price, you will receive an E-mail notifying an URL where you can make the payment online.  The page is protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to ensure the safety of your credit card information.  If you live in Japan and prefer other forms of payment (bank transfer etc.), please check with us.
