Shoen Omachi Onsen [Nagano Prefecture]

Shoen is located in Omachi onsen hot spring area, near the world-class ski slopes in Hakuba, and picturesque Kurobe Canyon surrounded by Northern Alps.  Once you pass through the Japanese noren curtain, staff at shoen will greet you with the Shinshu (Nagano area) region’s simple yet warm hospitality.  In the evening, fire is set in the pottery kilns on the earthen floor to cook fresh rice.  In the semi-private dining rooms, a full-course Japanese dinner with carefully selected local ingredients is served.  Guests can enjoy freshly grown vegetables in Azumino, local beef and pork, and juicy fruits as Shinshu is one of the major fruit production area in Japan. The quality of Omachi onsen is believed to heal the pains of jointsand neck.  Enjoy the ryokan’s original aromatic hot spring bath with floating cypress wood, fresh lemon (in spring & summer), or apple (in autumn and winter).
